HEAD OF INNOVATION - IKEA

KEYNOTE:

In the span of my 20 year career thus far, the role of strategic design has evolved quickly from a focus on look and feel, to technology, to people-centred. In order to continue to lead positive impact, design as a practice needs to continue to evolve and go beyond a human (anthropocentric) approach to problem solving. As designers, we need to start cultivating new sensibilities and skills that empower us to design for co-evolutionresilience and scales beyond our visibility. This new approach does not replace the complexity of all the other variables we have come to embrace, but is yet another problem that we must integrate in our process in order to create synergy.

We are in desperate need of future-proof solutions that embrace a life-centred approach. For designers, this requires an expansion of our scope of responsibilities and ethical considerations with regard to the longer term health of society, the economy, and our planet.

Die Keynote von Stiven wird in Englisch abgehalten.
